Speech-Language

Development

ORACY supports speech-language development.

People will notice if your pronunciation is good or bad as soon as you start speaking the simplest of words. Bad pronunciation creates a bad first impression and it can also play with your confidence, which makes it even more difficult for you to communicate.

This strand of our programme helps participants correct and improve speech sound articulation related challenges.

Pronunciation and speech sound drills can be annoyingly drab and ineffective. With the right amount of fun, students can learn almost anything.

A large chunk of our speech-language development content is 'storified' (they have been turned into stories). Our stories are simple, funny, and memorable.

Storified Content /

Resource Materials

Most of our lessons on speech-language development have been turned into stories that are fun and memorable. We have crafted stories ranging from comical to magical in a bid to help participants enjoy each lesson.

You can CLICK on any of the stories to catch a glimpse of what our content feels likes.

Bombay's Adventure series is a collection of stories that focuses on vowel sounds.

The stories are built around Bombay, a lazy caveman who is ready to eat dirty rotten fruits, steal and even fight a woolly mammoth so long as he does not have to hunt for food like other cavemen.

Shapeshifters change their physical looks when they feel the need.

Most shapeshifters are triggered. The shapeshifters in this story are triggered by certain letters.

Harry is probably the most curious kid in the world! He never stops asking questions. As long as Harry is concerned, there are no dumb questions.

With Curious Harry around the block, everyone gets to learn how to use intonations to ask different types of questions.

Pirate Hookie lost an arm years ago. As we both know, arms do not grow back. Pirate Hookie got a much scary replacement. He got a hook!

Pirate could hook almost anything.

Some letters behave just like Pirate Hook! These special letters use their imaginary hooks to pull other letters to themselves
